Sunday may the day of rest, but it doesn’t mean City Hall will be idle with the outside and the main auditorium in full swing and ready to deliver even more magical moments like those of Sundays past; where people like Black Coffee, Dixon, Felix Laband and Four Tet have delivered what can only be described as sermons.
Dala Flat, Beat Sampras and hip hop goldmine DJ Kenzhero all have the exceptional honour of playing before George Evelyn AKA Nightmares on Wax - one of the longest standing artists in Warp Record’s record books, arguably the most discerning electronic music label in history.
In the auditorium the gloves come off and an onslaught of the planet’s best house music producers and DJs prepare for a showdown. Durban born Capetonian Terrence Pearce opens proceedings as perhaps SA’s most decorated producer. He is followed by a man many consider to be responsible for why we are all so addicted to this house sound down south - Vinny da Vinci. He then makes way for four hours of Harri & Domenic, the Glasgow based Subclub residents that the best DJs on earth are calling ‘the best DJs on earth’.
Sunday’s at CTEMF have racked up a reputation is as unmissable a day as any, and today is your chance to get access for only R250. That’s R50 less than regular online sales and R100 less than buying at the door. The sale lasts for 24 hours, so even if you haven’t been all weekend, the Sunday line-up has some of the finest DJs and electronic music makers in the world, and is accepted by bosses and companies citywide as a valid excuse to take Monday off.
