Ralf Kollmann is Mobilee’s secret weapon; the quintessential double-threat who has taken the imprint to lofty heights with his business prowess, and to dancefloors worldwide with his renowned DJ skills. He formed Mobilee in partnership with Anja Schneider, and what began as a side project quickly expanded into a fully-fledged career as mobilee blossomed from a small, homegrown label into a full-on music and entertainment enterprise. Kollmann earned his stripes within the mid-1990s techno communities of Cologne and Frankfurt, before moving to Berlin in 2002; since then he has become a central figure in the development of the capital’s musical identity. Under Kollmann’s guidance, and with his discerning ear, Mobilee records and offshoot label Leena have risen through the ranks since 2005 to become one of the brightest stars in Berlin’s glittering galaxy of electronic music labels. Ralf is a lifelong DJ and the lynchpin of Mobilee’s excursions beyond its Berlin base, with appearances throughout Europe, North America and South Africa, and at the helm of extensive international tours, label showcases, and special events at Sonar and WMC. He is a meticulous DJ with infallible technical skills and a record collection unparalleled in both depth and magnitude; its vast range colours his sets with stone-cold classics, underground favourites, exclusive cuts, and the newest of the new. It’s no coincidence that as requests for his podcasts and DJ mixes increase, so the number of his worldwide headlining gigs rises in kind.

Yannick Ilunga doesn’t dice his words when he outlines the message woven throughout his seminal debut album ‘Stay Positive!’. Yannick is half-Congolese half-Angolan and was raised in South Africa, making him an artist truly born of the African continent, a heritage that is as apparent in his music as the originality that echoes from every nuance of his sound. The twenty-something artist known as Petite Noir lives part time in Cape Town, close to his family, his spiritual roots and the culture that remains ever-present as it bleeds through his music and the immediately recognisable and unique sound that can unmistakably be called his own. Although Petite Noir’s musical background and field of influence is vast and ranges from sounds as far flung from each other as guitar metal and nu-disco, he has developed into a confident future-facing singer and songwriter with an unmistakably wide palette. His latest body of work aptly named La Vie Est Belle/Life Is Beautiful, named after an uplifting 1987 Congolese film, is both a beacon and a vessel of inspiration, offering empowerment to those who need it, and insight to those who seek it.

Chloé is an institution, an electronic music artist suspended between genres and aesthetics unable to be categorized. With a style born from true DJ culture and a strength of building a set with a personal vision, the French DJ and producer has developed a unique ear and sound distinctly her own. It is this sound that has led Chloé to being one of the most sought after artists in the contemporary music scene. To file her under ‘girl DJ’ would be to miss the point, or to make one that isn’t necessary. Chloé’s accomplishments speak for themselves. Beginning in the 1990s in the Parisian club scene Chloé steadily gained a following that today reaches far beyond France. By 2002 she began releasing EPs and remixes and in 2007 her debut LP The Waiting Room (Kill the DJ) was released to critical praise. In 2010 Chloé released her second LP One in Other (Kill the DJ) which went on to be nominated for France’s most prestigious music award Les Victoires de la Musique. Her extensive discography includes EPs released on Karat, BPitch Control, My Favorite Robot and Throne of Blood. Among her releases are also remixes for Alain Chamfort, Miss Kittin and Troy Pierce. If it were in nightclubs across Europe that Chloé refined her talent as a DJ it was at the Music Academy in Paris studying electro acoustics that Chloé focused her talent as a musician. Her live audio-visual shows have seen her play in institutional art spaces and music venues throughout Europe including Paris’ Centre Pompidou where she performed her piece ‘The Surreal and Its Echo’ live, taken from the project of the same name that was also released as a book with accompanying CD (editions Dis-Voir) in 2011. Often collaborating within the world of cinema, dance and art, Chloé has created exclusive sound pieces for the Cinemathéque de Paris and has worked with choreographers including Fabrice Ramalingum. In 2013 Chloé collaborated with contemporary artist Anri Sala on the critically acclaimed project Ravel Ravel Unravel, which was featured at the French pavilion at the Venice Biennale the same year. Chloé’s eclectic incarnations within music have traversed many worlds but it’s as a DJ that Chloé has kept herself continuously at the forefront of electronic music, playing in Europe’s most prominent clubs and music venues such as Robert Johnson, Mondo and Fabric as well as regularly headlining on the festival circuit. Chloé’s current residency is at Rex Club in Paris where she curates her party Lumière Noire with international DJs while continuing to evolve and expand her body of work and collaborations with others.
After cutting his DJ teeth in the Sub Club and elsewhere around Glasgow, in 1994 Harri joined forces with one of Glasgow’s most talented young DJs, Domenic Cappello. Together they created Subculture, the Sub’s flagship weekly Saturday night. Just shy of 20 years on, Subculture - with Harri & Domenic at the helm - is the longest running weekly house night in the U.K. and very possibly worldwide. Steep yourself in history at #CTEMF2016

One of trip-hop’s greatest ever, and the man who took the downtempo beat to the thriving masses back when rave music was considered slow at 135bpm. Being there at the start of Warp Recordings is testament to how entrenched in the history books of electronica and downtempo bliss George Evelyn really is. Encapsulating the Balearic hedonism of places like Ibiza in its heyday, you can be sure you have heard a N.O.W record at more than a few after parties. The essential soundtrack to Spliff Politics, roll up roll up! N.O.W plays #CTEMF2016

Born in Germany and trained up on the drums and keyboard, Boris is the self-proclaimed inventor of high-tech minimal, and an artist whose songs always tell some kind of story. Using a blank canvas and painting with elements of electro, breakbeat, techno, IDM, and even small ambient influences, he brings a style to electronic music that is all his own. He is definitely one to catch live at #CTEMF2016
